Precautions To Take While Using Frontline Plus

frontlineplus6s-upto10kgFrontline plus generally don’t need a prescription from your vet doctor, that means they are available over-the-counter. But there are several precautions that you need to take while using Frontline plus.

Frontline plus is made up of a number of chemical compounds of which Fipronil is an active ingredient  in the frontline which kills adult fleas while S-methoprene is an insect growth regulator which kills eggs and larvae. But due to the presence of chemicals, Frontline plus can cause some problems in your pet.

Frontline plus is for external use. It can be used on puppies, kittens, cats and dogs who are about 8 weeks or older. It can also be used for pregnant, lactating and breeding pets.

When Frontline plus is applied, pets may experience some irritation at the site of application which will be temporary. But if it persists for many days or become severe, call your vet doctor. If your pet is given some other medications, you need to talk to your veterinarian about the use of Frontline plus in this condition. You need to also discuss about its use on older or debilitated   pets.

Frontline plus is the flammable product, so you need to keep it away from the fire, heat or open flame. Keep away the product from human reach, especially kids, because if it is swallowed by mistake, it can be harmful and cause vomiting. It can also lead to eye injury; flush your eyes with some water if this happens. Immediately call your health care provider in such situation or if eye irritation persists for a long time.

Store Frontline plus at room temperature and in the original container. Wash your hands properly with soap after applying on your pets. If the overdose of Frontline plus happens by mistake, contact your vet doctor immediately.
